Dopsie, Jr. is the son of the legendary Rockin’ Dopsie, dubbed the Prince of Zydeco. Dopsie, Jr. leads the Zydeco Twisters on his washboard, and the band is widely considered “Zydeco’s Royal Family.” His brother, Tiger, beats the drums mercilessly with unmatched enthusiasm. His other brother, Anthony, plays accordion in a wondrous fashion, much like his father – The Price of Zydeco. Throw in a couple guitars, bass, and harmonious horn section and you have a party like you’ve never been to before.
Some national acts Rockin’ Dopsie, Jr. has performed with include Beyonce, the Dixie Chicks, John Fogarty, and the late-great Allen Toussaint. He has also made appearances at high-profile events such as the CMAs, French Quarter Festival, and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, as well as toured Europe and South America extensively.
